Road Trip – Wisconsin to North Carolina

Road Trip – September 2017

I drove from Wisconsin back home to North Carolina on an unexpected Road Trip.  The straight through shot on interstate roads could of been done in less than 20 hours of driving time.   I sort of took my time to do it in 3 days.  I elected to mix in some back roads, looking for those unexpected photography opportunities.  It ended up adding 10 or 15 hours of additional driving time to the trip.  🙂 Not sure I will let Siri pick my route again, because there were not enough scenic areas for my taste on the path I ended up taking.  Next time I will do a little more planning.  But I did end up with a large group of some interesting pictures.  Scroll down and have a look.

Rock Stacking – Cave Point Park, Wisconsin

(There are now park signs prohibiting this activity)

Meadow Lake Windmill Farm – Indiana

Northwest of Indianapolis, I found the Meadow Lake Windmill Farm.  (Click the blue link for more info.)  Did I say “I found”………   it was not something that is possible to miss.  Over 300 windmills stretched cross 2 or 3 exits along the interstate.  Of course I had to stop.  So I pulled off the highway, gassed up the car, grabbed something to eat, and then grabbed the camera and walked around to take some pictures.

 Raking Hay – Kentucky

Rail Road Bridge – Tennesee

Blue Ridge Parkway – North Carolina

Looking Glass Falls – North Carolina

Now I see why I wear a hat most of the time!  Soooo, back to the Blog.  Just wanted this one to show the easy access to this water falls.  Parking is right behind the camera.

It was early morning, so the lighting was not very bright.  I usually like some pics with the water in sharp focus.  But the situation would not let me get the shutter speed up without sacrificing too much ISO.  So if you like the silky water look, most of these shots are for you.  Anyway, here are a few different angles of the same falls.

Thanks For The Look!

As usual, please leave likes and comments at the bottom of this page.  Thanks.
